Hello friends. This week I’m sharing a little peek into my journal with ideas you can use this summer. If you aren’t currently in a daily journaling routine this is your sign to give it a try. It might change your life.

The type of journal you choose is up to you. I currently love my refillable journal, but for most of my life I have gravitated toward single use (this one is my favorite). I’ve gone though phases where I archive them diligently only to re-read them years later with a full-body cringe. I’ve also had seasons where I immediately destroyed them. This is a choose your own adventure situation.

Gratitude journaling. There are two ways I most love to fill pages and the first is gratitude journaling. Listing out everything you are thankful for helps to appreciate the life we already have and to notice the small things that make it beautiful. The second way I love to use a fresh journal page is a brain dump. Often (several times each week) I need to dump ALL my thoughts onto a page in order to clear my brain. If you struggle with overwhelm I highly suggest adding this to your routine.

Favorites

Favorite Things. Similar to above I love to fill pages with my favorite things. Looking back at old lists reminds me that some things are forever (like my love of old movies) but most obsessions are for a season or two. These are fun to look back on through the years.

Currently. It’s important to document what is happening in your life right now. Often we look back on seasons of life with a memory of one thing, but these pages are a reminder of all the different things a season of life can hold. When looking at this page it’s easy to spot the balance of family, career, mundane things and small delights that are currently taking up space in my weeks.

Supplies: Leather Journal Cover (comes in a variety of sizes, I prefer A5), tape runner, ransom note sticker book (for adding titles to your journal pages), washi tape, gold metal clips.
