We had the best Halloween with family last night and the transition between Halloween and Christmas is one of my favorite weeks of the year. If you need me I’ll be listening to audiobooks slowly decorating until my home is a winter wonderland.
It’s paper snowflakes time!
1. November 1st
I immediately ordered a sparkling Christmas tree (to replace another tree that broke last year) and a giant bow. I’m sooooo excited to start decorating and watching all the comfort Christmas movies in pajamas. Oh… and let’s make cookies!
Note: Don’t forget to vote this Tuesday (or before!)
2. Comfort Movies
While I decorate, bake, wrap gifts (of any of the other 10,000 things moms do during the holidays) I’ll be watching comfort movies in the background. Here’s my list and I’d love to hear yours too!
-The Holiday
-Home Alone
-Gremlins
-Love Actually
-Rudolph (1964)
3. Etsy Finds
Miniature wooden village in a letterpress tray (wow this whole shop is a dream)
-My favorite sweatshirt (and great gift idea for a bookish friend)
-This leather journal has been my most clicked Etsy link recently (I love mine and the color selection here is great)
-I loved doing this flying wish paper with my girls.
-button coasters
I just started a Wade England house collection and it’s bringing me so much joy.
4. Craft Project
I’m so excited to make this craft project (and also ornaments!) using metallic crafting foil.
5. Whistler Theory
I’m still fixating on the Whistler Theory. I’m definitely on team theory but I think it’s so fascinating that Ann Patchett hates the theory. TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS.
6. Custom Gifts
Loved this idea!
7. Cute scarf
8. Whirley Pop
I’m obsessed with making homemade popcorn in the whirley pop. I tried grated parmesan on top recently and it was so good.
9. Handmade Christmas Gift Ideas
I love making a few Christmas gifts every year (just a few to keep it fun!) and this year I’m thinking of making customized boat totes, tiny paintings for my book club and besties and clay bag charms (Emma and I already got all the supplies).
The other thing I really want to make with my eight year old is cookie boxes for our neighborhood friends.
Making wishes.
10. The Artist’s Way
I’m officially starting The Artist’s Way this week (I’m using the workbook) and I promise to report back on it. My sister swears it changed her life. Join me if you’ve been wanting to!
