This week I saw some great movies, read some good books and continued my project of making my home cozy. I’m getting ready to make homemade Chex mix. Life is beautiful.
1. Creative Goal
My creative goal for this week is to take film photos. I bought an Olympus point and shoot on eBay a while back and film, but I keep forgetting to use them. With the beautiful fall weather I’m going to swap to a purse where I can carry the camera at all times (it’s small). I also want to be more intentional about taking polaroid and instax photos.
2. Book Report & TBR
I absolutely loved Hollywood Ending. I haven’t read such a sweet book in a long time and I loved the Warhol movie setting.
Right now, I’m listening to Exit Party. I read The Life of M this week (loved the beautiful sentences). Next on my TBR is Partita. I have a lot of paintings to finish this week so I’m looking forward to some headphone time. :)

3. Vintage Paintings from Etsy
I found you all a treasure trove of original vintage paintings under $100 (or close).
And if you like that I can do eBay too. Hunting for vintage art is my favorite hobby.
4. Hot Cinnamon Spice Tea
Incase you haven’t tried it, this is the ultimate fall and winter tea. I get the decaf version because I like to have it at night. It’s a comfort.
5. Fall Dôen Order
I love choosing a few things from Dôen when their fall and holiday dresses are out (it’s the most wonderful time of the year). Here’s what I ordered this week: The Aubrielle Cardigan, The Giulietta skirt (can’t wait to wear with a chunky sweater), The Rowan Dress and The Holloway Pouch.
6. Themed Thanksgiving
My family started doing themed Thanksgivings a few years ago because my sister and I go to multiple family Thanksgivings and we wanted to add some novelty to ours (so we don’t have the exact same meal 2x on a row). Anyway! Last year we did fancy-old-man-steakhouse theme… it was so fun.
This year we're doing dumpling theme. It reminded that these steam baskets (you can do a double layer) fit perfectly on the (10.5 inch) Always pan. They’re perfect for steaming frozen dumplings at home.
7. Movies
We watched the iconic Eyes Wide Shut from 1999 and it was NOT what I was expecting (!!!) I think that with age everything that would have been subversive at the time is now kind of corny and it’s actually a CHRISTMAS movie with a moral ending like It’s a Wonderful Life. We found it to be beautiful, dated (in all the right places!!) and weird. If any of that sounds good to you, I recommend it.
Last night we saw You Can See Everything and loved it. Afterward we talked for hours. There’s a lot to unpack.
8. Dining Room Chairs
Here’s a look at my new dining room chairs and table. Switching to a round table really made a big difference. I’m so excited to host Thanksgiving here.
9. Tolkien’s Christmas letters to his children
This was so much fun to see!

10. Custom Bags for Kids
I found these custom duffle bags and I ordered them for my kids (and niece & nephew) for their December advent calendar this year (a gift to hold their gifts).
I can’t believe Halloween is just two weeks away! I still have some work to do on my costume. What about you?
