This week was filled with creative projects and getting back into routines. My girls went back to school and I returned to a balanced schedule. This month my goals are to complete my revision, clean my closet and take my child to Space Camp (I’m staying at a nearby hotel alone for a whole week so it’s basically a writer’s retreat…SO excited!).

Here’s what’s inspiring me this week:

I got nail art for the first time in years.

1. Etsy Finds

I’ve been loving browsing Etsy. I just discovered this artist (I love the shadow portraits!), this and this hand painted Halloween sign and these engraved bookshelf labels for my new library shelves.

Every year I get one special thing for my Halloween decor collection and a few years back I got this mirror. Isn’t it the best?

2. Audiobooks

I have a LOT of work to do this month that is audiobook friendly. What are the best performances you’ve listened to? I’m excited for Hollywood Ending in a few weeks and Partita in October.

Taking morning walks in the slightly cooler weather.

3. Cozy Tea

It’s time for hot cinnamon spice tea (I usually get it in the decaf option). It really is the ultimate tea for fall and winter.

4. Tattoos

On the kids first day of school I made three tattoo appointments (Sept, Oct, Nov). I’m going to try going in once a month to add to my tiny tattoo collection. Saving inspiration and ideas for them is bringing me so much joy. I think I’m finally going to get some literary tattoos starting with a Shirley-Jackson-inspired cup of stars. (If you’re local, I see Kim & she’s the best for fine line)

5. PSL

Don’t forget you can make your own pumpkin spice syrup and keep it in your fridge.

6. Jewelry Cleaner

I finally got an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner to clean all my vintage jewelry with. It’s so satisfying to use and my engagement ring is SO sparkly. Highly recommend, especially if you collect vintage like I do.

7. Autumn tradition

I love KJP sweaters and this year I’m eyeing this one.

8. Souper Cubes

It’s soup season. I’m obsessed with these souper cubes for freezing extra chili, chicken and dumpling soup and pasta. We just made a ton of homemade spaghetti sauce too.

9. Fall Shopping

I ordered my first Hill House Dress and I’m so excited to try it.

10. Labor Day Sales

-Anthropologie has 40% off decor, candles, bedding & more.
-Hanna Andersson has 40% off sitewide (best kids pjs)
-Christy Dawn is running a 30% off sale.
-Madewell has an up to 50% off sale.
-Quince cashmere sweaters are currently $29.

ps. We have new podcast episodes going up every Monday!
