Studio Sunday (no. 28)

This past week has been filled with guests, writing and back to school prep. My sister and I are traveling to St. Louis this week to spend time with family and I’m excited to geek out in World Market (!!) and hopefully the art museum.

Above you can see my first attempt at hot glue embroidery. You write a word with hot glue and then stitch over it to give it sort of a friendship bracelet effect. It’s a good, relaxing craft project. I do find that keeping my hands busy gives me a quieter mind.

2. Vintage

I’ve been on a fresh vintage kick. I’m trying to remember to always check for vintage options (my lucky spot is eBay) instead of buying things on Amazon (or wherever). I’ve recently been collecting some vintage earrings and belts. It’s so fun and they tend to have more personality compared to a new option.

I need to do a little closet cleanup and then show you a tour of all my vintage treasures.

I think this would be a cute first needlepoint project. Love these custom gingham seat cushions. Thinking about this ladybug necklace.

I love this dress I found on Etsy so much I’ve been thinking of ordering it in red.

I’ve been using and loving this SPF 50 sunscreen makeup. It goes on white and then adjusts to my skin tone (I’m using the color “light” and next time I think I could go a shade darker).

If you need kids lunchboxes, the OmieBox is 1000% worth it. I love the removable thermos piece because my children LOVE soup and pasta and you can send stuff like that in their lunch. My kids would always prefer eating leftovers over a PB&J. We’ve used several through this years and it’s the best one.

If you are already loyal to a favorite pen, I respect that. But if you’re not here’s my ride of die.

I’m finishing up The Marriage Portrait (love!! The only downside is it’s making me OBSESSED with visiting Florence again) and I’m so excited to read Theodora’s Tea Shop next. What are you reading?
