Welcome to August. We’re got three weeks until school starts, so I’m going to pack in as many memories as possible, while simultaneously prepping for my favorite season. One foot in, one foot out.

1. Writing Update

Currently, I’m restructuring my novel and I’ve been reflecting on all the lessons this project has taught me. There’s a kind of loyalty I have to the manuscript as if I owe her (yes, her) for the years of patient mentoring she’s given me. The entire experience has been a such gift. I love seeing the project grow and I’m so grateful this idea knocked on my door.

2. Etsy Finds

I love these button coasters, framed clover and this goose coffee sleeve. A few of my recent purchases have been this Orchard House sweatshirt and a giant scrunchie.

3. Tree House Makeover

We’re giving the girls’ treehouse a fun makeover. I’ll share more soon.

4. Hair Brush

If your kids don’t like getting their hair brushed, try this brush and this spray combo. Best we’ve found.

5. Pumpkin Mugs

Love these. Each year I add a couple special pieces to my halloween decor collection. I’m trying so hard to wait until the kids school starts to begin decorating.

Speaking of Halloween (which I always am) the millenial inside me cannot stop checking Anthropologie’s Halloween page. Just a peek… and maybe a puzzle.

6. Pierce & Ward

I love this collection. Specifically, this drink table and this lamp.

7. Ted Talk

Ann Patchett (she talks about opening her bookstore and having a “long format brain”)

8. Comfy Jeans

I got these floral jeans and they are so comfortable. I feel like now that I got used to wearing baggy jeans the trends will surely shift again (I do what I can).

9. Emily Wilson on The Odyssey Film

10. Family Movie Nights

One of my goals for the coming season is to establish regular family movie nights. We’ve been doing it (infrequently) and it’s so much fun. My children are ages 8 and 11. What should we should add to our family movie list?
