Hello. It’s mid-summer check in time and I am feeling CRAFTY. So much creative energy appeared out of nowhere. It must be the fact that with our renovations over I finally have space in my brain for hobbies again and it feels so good. I just ordered these ceramic pens and these fabric markers. Ready for a craft-a-thon.
1. Tomato Cheddar Toast
I learned about Tomato Cheddar Toast from Elise’s newsletter (it’s a NYT recipe) and now that I’ve started making it I can’t stop. It’s the perfect easy meal. To make it you mix mayo with cheddar cheese and and smear that on toast (sourdough for me) and top with tomato, salt and pepper.
2. Reading
Next on my list is The Marriage Portrait and The Thirteenth Tale. Let me know if you’ve read either one and what you thought. I’m looking forward to them. Also, I haven’t read any kind of a romance or beach read for summer and I still need to.
Back to school shopping (early so it’s less chaotic)
3. Backpacks
I picked up backpacks for the upcoming school year. The girls were thrilled when I opened the package last night. There’s still a full month of summer break, but I like to do school shopping slowly, especially for kids clothing. My favorite spots where I find the majority of their closet are Rylee & Cru, Hanna Andersson and Boden.
4. Rifle Home Sale
Rifle has a sale on home items (20% off with HOME20) including this rug that I always get so many questions about.
Fairy garden refresh. The girls love working on this too.
5. Bookshelf Lights
I tried adding some bookshelf lights to my shelves (no outlets required) and they’re perfect. I skipped sconces (trying to save $$ because electrical work is one of the most expensive elements) and now I have no regrets because these make up for it.
6. Chair Stool
I just ordered this chair & stool combo. I love that it’s functional, but also cute so I don’t have to hide it away in the basement.
7. Travel
My goal for the weekend is to book us a little trip to take before school starts. Thank you to everyone who sent me your favorite boutique hotels. I have the best collection in my notes app now. Excited to do something just the four of us.

8. Fall Shopping
They made my favorite shoes in a bunch of new colors.
Also, I stopped into At Home the other day and they had some great halloween decor out. My favorite are these pumpkin planters, felt garland and this little toad. I’m still deciding what outdoor decor to add this year (planning it is something I do to get a lil dopamine spike haha).

10. Blushing
I’ve never gotten so many compliments on a single makeup item as this blush (try the color Glimpse if you’re an Autumn like me).
