Studio Sunday (no. 23)

This weekend we’re in Branson, Mo with my husband’s family for the 4th of July. It’s been a week full of swimming with kids, ice cream and fireworks. I’m so outside of my normal routine that time no longer exists.

My favorite Etsy purchases of the year (so far) have been these photo booth frames, this bookish sweater and my trifold leather journal. I loveeee Etsy. Would love to hear your best finds too!

2. Charming Home Tour

If you love a long, rambling home tour full of antiques and stories you will love this tour. Love this one too.

I’m currently reading The Parisian Heist by Jo Piazza (artists + Paris will always be a yes from me!) and I’m listening to The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (it’s so good… I’m only about halfway in).

In related news, I’ve got my girls reading their kindles one hour every day (weekdays). It’s a goal I have every summer and usually struggle with but here’s the SIMPLE trick that made it doable for us… (don’t laugh!) Ok, we do our reading time all together (I read along with them). The secret is they don’t have to do if they skip it there’s no television all day.

I’m a genius, right? It works like magic. A lot of days we do our reading hour immediately after breakfast. Then, no matter how else I fail that day, I feel like a winner.

If you are a deep Autumn (or a mid-contrast Autumn too) this blush in the color Glimpse is such a good subtle color. I have a tendency to wear wayyy too much blush and this color is perfect for that. You almost can’t overdo it.

I recently bought an Olympus point and shoot from eBay. I’m so excited to grab some film and start carrying it everywhere. For those of you who shoot film, what do you recommend? It’s been so long (almost 20 years??) since I was in the habit of using film. Excited to give it a try. (I’ll still be a devotee to my digital toy cameras too)

I ordered some personalized stationery and now I’m so excited to send letters. I’ve been thinking about buying a foil pen and making some foiled stuff (my enneagram 7 for starting new hobbies is going WILD right now… anyone else?)

I’m about to start a new revision on my novel (yes, again) and to clear my mind I did nothing but paint last week. It was such a good reset.

I completed eight small pieces for Liz Lidgett’s summer release. Every summer she does a Holiday in July release of works $500 and under. It’s one of my favorites to shop… I usually get a Susannah Carson piece. The release is this Friday, July 10th, at 10am CTD.

After that, I will have one more release in 2026, a solo show in the fall. I’ll confirm details closer to the release.

I love this hook and all the Nellie collection. I’ve been mixing them with antique and vintage brass pieces throughout our home.

If you love Tom Ford’s Tabacco Vanille, you’ve got to try this affordable candle. I’ve been using it for months as my kitchen candle and love it. They also sell a refill for it. LOVE.
