This weekend my family took an overnight getaway for some quality time. In this letter I’m sharing some photos from our weekend. It was the perfect little respite we all needed. Below are some photos from Crystal Bridges Museum.

1. Reading Week

I had a great reading week because I blew through Yesteryear and started Emma M. Lion.

Yesteryear: I have so many thoughts on this book. It’s a great book club pick because it’s really fun to discuss. Elise and I were going back and forth for days. (WIth no spoilers!) It’s a page turner designed to evoke strong feelings. You might be delighted, you might be enraged… you won’t be bored.

Emma M. Lion: So many of you messaged me that you have to read two (sometimes even three) volumes before you get addicted. So I’m taking that advice and planning a marathon.

2. Spring and Summer Fashion

This season I’ll be wearing woven bags, a dawn dress and ballet flats. I started a closet clean out and I’m excited to organize it (again and again haha).

4. Quilt

We’re a big quilt family and I’m always looking for small lap quilts we can use for watching movies and things like that. Love this one.

5. Poeple We Meet On Vacation

Jeremy randomly volunteered to watch the movie People We Meet on Vacation. It was delightful and felt like a movie from another time. I’d love a romcom revival.

6. Facebook Marketplace

So, this has never happened to me before, but I think it’s a rite of passage. My friend found these amazing chairs for me on Marketplace for a great price. We scheduled everything and showed up to get them and they were kids chairs. AUGH. I ended up still getting them because they’ll fit in Marigold’s room but I’m sad for the place I was planning to put them.

Has this ever happened to you?

It looked so fun we had to try it too.

7. Pillow Mist

The best smelling pillow mist. I’ve bought this so many times.

8. Buttons

I’m still thinking about the oversized button (and I did order the button stool to use in Marigold’s bathroom). I can’t remember the last time mass produced art spoke to me like this. This collection is truly the best influencer collab I’ve ever seen. It’s so charming and I hope to see more like it.

9. Rug

My favorite affordable rug is on sale. I love Rifle’s rugs because they mix well with vintage and antiques.

10. Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

On my list: personalized ring, 11 11 perfume, the best face mask and a new journal. Although, the best mother’s day gift (always and forever) is kids art.
