Hello there. We’ve returned home safely and had a weekend filled with paint, crafts and decompression. I love traveling with the girls, but the feeling of arriving home afterward is unmatched.
A baking project with my girls.
1. Homemade Cake Pops
One of my children is obsessed with baking, so I committed myself to do a weekend baking project with her. It’s so much fun, and I will admit I have almost as much to learn as she does (I’m not a strong baker). I probably need to follow the instructions (oops) but I’m pretty sure we can make this happen.
2. Fuji Photo Album
I am so behind on making photo albums, but I just found these Instax mini size albums that would be fun for an occasion. I need to do some printed albums as well as some homemade ones. Hold me to it! This is the year I get all my photos organized.
When my kids’ art mirrors mine it makes my heart grow 10 sizes.
3. The Astral Library
I just finished reading The Astral Library and want to recommend it for readers who enjoyed The Midnight Library. It’s a journey through classic novels with a lot of fun costume changes.
(Please send me book recommendations.)
4. 100 Tiny Home Projects
After years of renovating our home we’re at a stopping point and have been enjoying a break. I’ve been working on a list of 100 really small projects I can do to improve our home and it has everything from drawers and closets that need to be organized to rooms that feel half-decorated. Everything on the list is small enough to do in a day, so I think I will spend the next year or two doing a few of these each week.
My well-loved journal.
5. My Etsy Journal
I absolutely love my leather journal from Forest Nine on Etsy. I chose the A5 size and use a variety of small moleskine journals to fill it (my favorites are watercolor paper and graph paper). I added the charms myself.
6. Comfort Art
I’m spending all my free time making art right now and it’s so comforting. Our home art studio is getting a lot of use and was the right choice. I had an extra easel that I put on the front porch, so hopefully this will be a good week for outdoor painting.
Back at our Mouse Mansion project.
7. Marbled Wrapping Paper
I’m obsessed with collecting marbled wrapping paper and little ribbons and tags for gift giving. I’ve been adding to a drawer of gifts and it’s so worthwhile and fun to work on. It’s been my goal for years to remember people’s birthdays and I’m still not where I want to be, but improving.

8. Walks outside
It feels like Spring here (most days) and I’m so excited to take walks outside again. I noticed the trees starting to bloom and early flowers popping up. Magical!
9. My favorite quilt
My favorite quilt for sitting on the porch with coffee or picnics.
