Hello friends. This week we’re starting some Autumn journaling pages. I promise I do understand it’s currently August 12th but hear me out, I love planning ahead when I’m excited. There’s nothing wrong with getting hyped and well-planned for the season ahead.
Begin by filling a page with all the topics you want to focus on. This can be a variety of practical tasks, fun treats, family activities, reading, media and any kind of goal.
I also set ONE big focus goal each quarter. I believe that the thing you focus on (most) is usually the thing that works out. So choosing your big focus for the coming season with intention is an opportunity. Make it a good one!
Totally optional, but I went extra and painted colorful borders on my journaling pages.
Here are the topics I went for first. These are basically brain dump pages that are meant to empty your brain of ideas big and small. It really helps me to do this anytime I’m feeling overwhelmed.
Spaces to Declutter. There are several spaces in my home that need some TLC, but especially my closet, the kids rooms, the bathroom drawers and the cabinets below my bookshelves. Once these are done I can move on to smaller projects like decluttering drawers.
Crafts to Make. Autumn is my favorite crafting season, but I can get too Enneagram 7 (constantly starting new projects without completing any) so it helps to have a check list. One of the big things I want to do this season is make some holiday gifts with my girls.
Movies to See. This list will be WAY longer but I love to keep a list of movies so anytime my husband says “what should we watch?” I can just pull out a list. Classic movies, 60s and 70s horror and cozy movies will be on deck in the coming season.
Books to Read. I never want to be without a HUGE tbr for the rest of my life. I’ve found that it can be helpful to keep a shortlist in addition to a long list that goes into the hundreds.
PS. Don’t forget to start your Autumn Bucket List. I fill mine with a few personal goals and them majority family activities since these busy seasons go by so quickly. It helps me to remember to plan and schedule cute activities like carving pumpkins, decorating our Halloween tree together and making a new moody playlist.
